SOUTHERN HISTORY OF EDUCATION SOCIETY
2019 Annual Meeting
The 2019 annual meeting of the Southern History of Education Society will be held at the University of North Georgia's campus in Dahlonega, GA. The meeting dates are scheduled for March 15th and 16th, 2019 (Friday and Saturday). There will also be a chance for those who arrive at the conference on Thursday, March 14 to attend a social gathering from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the wine tasting room of the Dahlonega Square Hotel. Currently, we are reserving blocks of rooms at nearby hotels. The first hotel option is The Dahlonega Square Hotel and Villas. You may find additional about the hotel here, but guests will need to call the hotel directly, using the code word SHOES to get the conference rate. They can be reached at (706) 867-1313. Rooms in the block will be held until Feb. 1, 2019.
Additional hotel rooms are being held at the Days Inn by Windham. Information for that hotel can be found here, but they, too, should be contacted directly with the code word SHOES to get the conference rate. The phone number for that hotel is (706) 756-6069. The view from the second floor rooms is impressive. If stairs aren't an issue for you, you may wish to request a room above the ground floor. Rooms will be held in this block until Feb. 10, 2019.
Finally, rooms are being held at Hall House Hotel and Old Store House Inn. You may find additional information about the hotel here. Rooms at either of these two inns can be calling (706) 867-5009 and speaking to Mike Miller and telling him you will be attending the SHOES conference. There is no guaranteed conference rate, but the rooms are being held until Feb. 14, 2019.
